This report by the UN Secretary-General "was prepared by the Departments of Peacekeeping
Operations, Field Support and Political Affairs provides an assessment of the recommendations of the African Union-United Nations panel and proposes practical ways in which the United Nations can assist the African Union to enhance its effectiveness in the deployment and management of peacekeeping operations. In preparing this report, the Secretariat consulted closely with the African Union Commission."
