President Emeritus, Northwestern University
Mr. Bienen is president emeritus of Northwestern University. Prior to his time at Northwestern, Mr. Bienen was the James S. McDonnell distinguished university professor and the dean of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He has been the recipient of Rockefeller Foundation grants to Kenya and Nigeria, and of a Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship for Study at Bellagio, Italy. He has been a member of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Princeton and a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Studies in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford. Mr. Bienen is one of three university presidents awarded an inaugural Carnegie Corporation Academic Leadership Award for innovative leadership in higher education. He was a member of the Senior Review Panel at the Central Intelligence Agency and has been a consultant to the U.S. Department of State, the National Security Council, the Agency for International Development, the World Bank, and many other corporations and foundations. He is based in Chicago, IL.
