(South Africa), Director, RMB Holdings
Mr. Shubane is a director of two South African companies, RMB Holdings and First Rand. Previously he was a director of Simeka Financial Services and a member of the Board of Directors at the Centre for Policy Studies. He co-chaired the Local Government Elections Task Group that oversaw South Africa’s first inclusive local elections in 1995. His recent work has focused on the role of local and provincial governments in the new South Africa. Mr. Shubane was active in the anti-apartheid struggle and served a six-year prison sentence on Robben Island for his role as a student organizer.
