(Zambia), Chairman and CEO, Sumika Consultancy and Management Services Ltd.; former Political Adviser to the President of Zambia
Mr. Chona has been chairman and chief executive officer of Sumika Consultancy and Management Services since 1993. He served as President Kenneth Kuanda's special assistant for political affairs and international security policy from 1968 to 1980, and as such was responsible for the formulation of overall foreign policy. He was an active participant in the negotiations that led to the independence of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia. Currently he is executive chairman of the Task Force on Corruption set up by the Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa to investigate high levels of corruption during the 10 years of the previous administration.
