Mr. Koç is honorary chairman of Koç Holdings A.S., a diversified global corporation in manufacturing, banking and finance, and energy resources. He served as the company's chairman from 1984 to 2003. He also founded Turmepa, the Turkish Marine and Environment Protection Agency. He is former president of the International Chamber of Commerce; and serves as chairman of the American Hospital in Istanbul, the Rahmi M. Koç Museum and Cultural Foundation, and Koç University; and as chairman of the Business Advisory Council for South East Europe.
