This update represents violence in Nigeria and related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger from November 19 to November 25, 2022. 
The map depicts deaths by state. Borno State, in Nigeria's North East, is the epicenter of Boko Haram-related violence, which has also spilled into neighboring Adamawa and Yobe states, among others.

Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from November 19 to November 25, 2022. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

 

  • November 19: Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) killed nine soldiers, two police officers, and “some” (est. at five) civilians in Abadam, Borno.
  • November 19: Gunmen killed three police officers in Nkanu West, Enugu. 
  • November 19: Kidnappers abducted a priest at a church in Igbo-Eze, Enugu. 
  • November 19: Kidnappers abducted three in Ilorin, Kwara.  
  • November 19: Herdsmen killed two in Isi-Uzo, Enugu. 
  • November 19: The military killed “scores” (est. at twenty) of bandits in Birnin-Gwari, Kaduna. 
  • November 20: Herdsmen killed two in Eleme, Rivers. 
  • November 20: Bandits abducted thirty-seven in Zurmi, Zamfara. 
  • November 21: Herdsmen killed eight in Isi-Uzo, Enugu. 
  • November 21: ISWA killed fifty Boko Haram militants in Gwoza, Borno. 
  • November 22: Herdsmen killed three in Isi-Uzo, Enugu. 
  • November 22: Boko Haram killed ten Chadian soldiers in Ngouboua, Chad.  
  • November 22: Bandits abducted four in Gusau, Zamfara.  
  • November 23: Sectarian violence led to nine deaths in Bokkos, Plateau. 
  • November 23: Bandits killed nineteen and abducted twenty in Zurmi, Zamfara. 
  • November 24: Gunmen killed four police officers and abducted one oil executive in Obio/Akpor, Rivers. 
  • November 24: Bandits killed twelve in Giwa Local Government Area (LGA), two in Kajuru LGA, and two in Birnin-Gwari LGA in Kaduna. 
  • November 24: Nigerian troops killed five Boko Haram militants in Mafa, Borno.
  • November 24:Nigerian troops killed "scores" (est. at forty) of ISWA militants in Marte, Borno.
