The Climate Stewardship Acts were three acts introduced to the Senate in 2003, 2005, and 2007. The 2003 act was first sponsored by Senators Joseph Lieberman and John McCain and involved a proposition of cap and trade for greenhouse gases emitted by refineries, power plants, and other industries. None of the acts passed in the Senate.
