The Climate Program Act established "a national climate program to assist in the understanding and response to natural and man-induced climate processes and their implications." It was enacted on September 17, 1978 and amended through P.L. 106580 on Dec. 29, 2000. It was repealed by the National Climate Service Act of 2009.
