The Case Against a League of Democracies

The next president should not embrace the idea of a "league of democracies" but rather shelve it. Such a club is not necessary to secure cooperation among democracies, and it would expose the limits of the West's power and legitimacy, reveal the myth of democratic solidarity, and arrest the spread of democracy.
