Amy B. Frumin has expertise in stability operations, post-conflict reconstruction, and civil-military coordination, and she is currently studying USAID's efficacy in carrying out its role in stability operations, using her experience on an Afghan Provincial Reconstruction Team as a case study.
She was recently based in Panjshir, Afghanistan, where she was the USAID representative to the Provincial Reconstruction Team. As one of three civilians on this mostly U.S. Air Force team, she managed the USAID portfolio and offered the development perspective in the team command group. Prior to her time in Afghanistan, she worked in Washington, DC, with USAID's Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI). She has also worked for the United Nations' Department of Peacekeeping Operations and UNICEF.
Ms. Frumin earned her BA in political science with a minor in international development at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and an MS in development studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
