Keith Olson joined CFR in March 2012 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He is responsible for the Council's financial, investing, cost containment, accounting, and risk management functions.
Prior to joining CFR, Keith spent eight years with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he managed the foundation's annual budget process, led its strategic planning, and developed its approach to program-related investments. He was also responsible for financial management of the foundation's program strategies, and helped to structure Warren Buffett's gift to the foundation.
Keith has served in several executive positions, including private debt and equity investing, mergers and acquisitions, business plan development, and joint venture structuring. He has also served in finance positions with Prudential Capital Group and KPMG. Keith holds a B.S. in Economics, as well as one in Industrial Management, from Purdue University, and received his MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
