Ruth Porat

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Morgan Stanley

Ruth Porat has been executive vice president and chief financial officer of Morgan Stanley since January 2010, and previously served as vice chairman of investment banking, global head of the financial institutions group, and co-head of technology investment banking. She joined Morgan Stanley in 1987. Throughout the financial crisis, Ms. Porat was responsible for the firm's coverage of financial institutions and governments globally. She led the Morgan Stanley teams advising the United States Treasury regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and the New York Federal Reserve Bank with respect to AIG. She is a member of the U.S. Treasury's Borrowing Advisory Committee. She is vice chair of Stanford University's board of trustees, a member of the board of trustees of the Economic Club of New York, a member of the Bretton Woods Committee, and a member of the business committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Ms. Porat was born in Sale, England and resides in New York City.
