This act was passed in 2003; it established the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and created the State Department's Office of the Global AIDS Coordinator. It was updated in July, 2008 as the Lantos-Hyde Global Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Reauthorization Act of 2008.
