National Intelligence Estimate: "Prospects for Iraq's Stability", Unclassified Key Judgments

This unclassified summary of a larger NIE document is a collaborative effort by all 16 intelligence agencies. It warns that sectarian violence, if not sufficiently addressed, will cause the security situation "to deteriorate at rates comparable to the latter part of 2006". It discusses Iran and Syria's influences, and possible factors that "could help to reverse the negative trends driving Iraq's current trajectory".
