United Nations Resolution 242

This resolution, which was adopted at the end of the six-day war, was an effort by the Security Council to resolve the border issues between the Arab nations and Israel . The Arab nations wanted total Israeli withdrawal. However each side interpreted the resolution in their own way, and no accordance was reached between the parties.
