This statement by the president of the UN Security Council regarding the Central African Republic was made on April 7, 2009. He calls for all parties to abide by peace plans, cease violence and the recruitment of child soldiers, and to plan transparent elections. His statement welcomes the establishment of United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in the Central African Republic
(BINUCA) to replace the United Nations peacebuilding office (BONUCA).
