Published October 24, 2000

This bilateral commercial treaty between the United States and Jordan was signed on October 24, 2000. The USTR states, "It was America's third free trade agreement, and the first ever with an Arab state. The Jordan FTA achieves significant and extensive liberalization across a wide spectrum of trade issues.  It will eliminate all tariff and non-tariff barriers to bilateral trade in virtually all industrial goods and agricultural products within ten years."
