Anti-War Treaty of Non-Aggression and Conciliation (Saavedra Lamas Treaty)

This anti-war treaty, prepared by the Argentine jurist Carlos Saavedra Lamas, was signed by the United States, Italy, and 14 Latin-American nations.  The U.S. signed the treaty on October 10, 1933 and it entered into force on November 13, 1935. It was superseded by the American Treaty on Pacific Settlement (Pact of Bogota)in 1948.
