Our Nation and the Sea: A Plan for National Action is a report published by the Commission on Marine Science, Engineering and Resources in January 1969. The report is "an intensive investigation of a broad array of marine problems ranging from the preservation of our coastal shores and estuaries to the more effective use of the vast resources that lie within and below the sea. The recommendations which have emerged from this study constitute a program which we believe will assure the advancement of a national capability in the oceans and go far towards meeting the inevitable needs of the future."
