RESOLUTION
Subject: Action Plan for International Police Peacekeeping
The ICPO-INTERPOL General Assembly, meeting in Doha, Qatar, from 8 to 11 November 2010 at its 79th session:
BEARING IN MIND Article 41 of the Organization's Constitution,
CONSIDERING the Co-operation Agreement between the United Nations and the International Criminal Police Organization - INTERPOL of 1997,
CONSIDERING Resolution AG-2009-RES-02 by which the General Assembly approved the Supplementary Arrangement on Co-operation between the United Nations and the International Criminal Police Organization - INTERPOL in relation to the activities of Peacekeeping Operations and Special Political Missions,
BEARING IN MIND the Outcome Declaration adopted by more than sixty Ministers of Justice, Foreign and Home Affairs at the close of the INTERPOL-United Nations Ministerial Meeting on 11 and 12 October 2009,
RECALLING the Ministers' request to develop an international policing doctrine and its implementation, including the development of an Action Plan for International Police Peacekeeping, no later than 12 months following the adoption of the Outcome Declaration,
EMPHASIZING the need to strengthen the role of police in peacekeeping operations,
AWARE of the challenges to policing within the framework of peacekeeping and special political missions,
COMMITTED to enhancing support for international police peacekeeping with regard to the key areas as defined in this instrument,
APPROVES the Action Plan for International Police Peacekeeping contained at
Appendix 1 to Report AG-2010-RAP-27.
