David Ivry, Israel's Ambassador to the United States since January 2000, was Israel's National Security Advisor and Head of the National Security Council during 1999. He served as Principal Assistant Minister of Defense for Strategic Affairs (1996-1999); Director-General, Ministry of Defense (1986-1999) and simultaneously as head of the Inter-Ministerial Steering Committee on Arms Control and head of Israel's delegation to the Multilateral Working Group on Arms Control and Regional Security. As Major General and Commander of the Israel Air Force (19771-1982), he commanded the IAF during Operation Peace for the Galilee and directed the destruction of the Osirak nuclear reactor in Iraq. A recipient of many awards including the Legion of Merit by the United States Air Force, Ivry served on the Board of Israel Aircraft Industries, El Al, and Technion University.

Christopher W. Ross served as Ambassador to Syria (1991-1998) and to Algeria (1988-1991). During his distinguished 30-year government career, he served in Lebanon, Libya, Morocco and in Washington, including as Special Assistant to the Presidential Emissaries to Lebanon and the Middle East. A graduate of Princeton, he received his MA from SAIS, John Hopkins University.
Hisham Melham, a frequent commentator on the Lehrer News Hour and other national and international media outlets, participated in the PBS Frontline special, The Mind of Saddam Hussein. He is the author of Dual Containment, the Demise of A Fallacy. A philosophy graduate of Villanova University, he joined the Philosophy Department at Georgetown University prior to becoming a full-time journalist.
