Former Secretary of Energy and Defense James R. Schlesinger and former Director of Central Intelligence and Deputy Secretary of Energy John Deutch chair the Task Force on Energy and U.S. Foreign Policy. The Task Force is examining the consequences of dependence on oil and gas on U.S. foreign policy and national security. The Task Force has consulted with industry leaders as well as environmental, human rights, and other NGO leaders. Project Director David Victor, adjunct senior fellow for science and technology, has joined the chairs for review sessions with Council members in Washington, New York, and nationally.
