As the United States struggles with economic challenges, the robust growth in emerging markets, such as India, Brazil, and China, arouses much interest and concern. Some believe America's capacity to innovate could play a chief role in economic growth and international competitiveness. Promoting innovation will require new approaches to regulatory regimes and governance that allow businesses to flourish. This section examines the challenges to promoting robust innovation.
The Renewing America project focuses on six major challenges facing the United States: debt and deficits; infrastructure; education and human capital; corporate regulation and taxation; innovation; and international trade and investment.
