    Report to Congress of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, 2006

    Published October 30, 2006

    This mandated report to Congress discusses the "national security implications of the bilateral trade and economic relationship" between the US and China. It covers proliferation issues, economic transfers, energy, US capital markets, regional economic and security impacts, bilateral science and technology programs, WTO compliance and freedom of expression. The 2006 report finds that "China's role as responsible stakeholder is a matter of some urgency"; it discusses international security implications and offers 44 recommendations.
