Michael R. Gordon, the chief military correspondent for the New York Times and co-author of a new book on the U.S. invasion of Iraq, says it is possible that the United States might achieve the "victory" in Iraq now being sought by President Bush. But it is also possible, he says, the country "could be engulfed in a civil war."
