Anthony Cordesmann has a CSIS briefing paper on Afghanistan. He concludes that the Taliban has suffered from material and symbolic setbacks in the past six months. In contrast to 2006, there has been no spring offensive. On the other hand, Afghan resentment of NATO is on the rise, and the country remains a drug-based economy.
