Caroline Netchvolodoff joined CFR in 2010 as senior adviser to the president for strategic planning. Prior to joining CFR, Ms. Netchvolodoff was a senior vice president at the consulting group Robinson Lake Sawyer Miller, where she developed research-based strategic communications, crisis-management, and marketing advice for multinational corporations including Morgan Stanley, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Sotheby's, American Airlines, and Time Warner. Before her move to Sawyer Miller, Ms. Netchvolodoff spent three years as marketing manager for new markets at Prescriptives International, where she coordinated the introduction of Estée Lauder's newest brand, Prescriptives, in Asia and Europe.
In 2012, Ms. Netchvolodoff oversaw the development and launch of CFR's Council of Councils, a program that connects leading institutions from twenty-three countries, roughly tracking the composition of the Group of Twenty (G20). The initiative is housed in CFR's International Institutions and Global Governance Program.
In her current capacity as Vice President, Education, Ms. Netchvolodoff's work at CFR focuses on the Global Literacy Initiative, including the creation of Model Diplomacy and curricular materials on the fundamental concepts of international relations and U.S. foreign policy, the first of CFR's original content designed to build global literacy among high school and college students.
Ms. Netchvolodoff has provided strategic planning and communications advice as a board member for a number of organizations, including Refugees International, the International Rescue Committee, HMS School for Children with Cerebral Palsy, and Webb-Warning Institute. She holds a BA in East Asian studies from Brown University and an MPP from Harvard University.
