The Pieter A. Fisher Program in International Relations was established in 1994. The Program supports the work of the Council’s Studies Program.
Pieter A. Fisher was a member of the Council for 16 years. He was a partner in the Wall Street firm of Goldman, Sachs & Company. His business interests over the years also included the Ramco Oil and Gas Company of Oklahoma City, in which he was a partner. He and his wife also owned a vineyard in Rutherford, California, and built a winery, Clos du Montagne, on the property.
Mr. Fisher was born in Baltimore and grew up there. He graduated in 1953 from Princeton and received a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1957. After working as an executive in advertising agencies, Mr. Fisher joined Goldman, Sachs in 1964. He became a general partner in 1975 and a limited partner in 1986.
