Global Reduction in Child Mortality
The World Health Statistics 2013 report showed a dramatic decrease in global child mortality rates over the past two decades. The World Health Organization's study measured 107 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2011 compared to 171 in 1990. However, this decrease will need to double if the world is to meet its Millennium Development of Goal of reducing child mortality by three quarters by 2015.
