He explained that the US is growing increasingly isolated, largely as a consequence of its post-9/11 policies, and that this increasing isolation has long-term negative consequences for US national security interests. This has led to an increase in regional interest arrangements in Asia, Europe and elsewhere that exclude the United States and have serious long-term repercussions for US standing worldwide."
