Brian P. Klein

Brian P. Klein was a 2008-2009 International Affairs Fellow based in Japan.

He previously served as a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing where his responsibilities included analysis of China’s regional economic integration, cross-border trade, international investment, and domestic and international energy policy. Prior to joining the State Department, Mr. Klein was Director of New Business Initiatives at SRA Ventures. He earned a BA in Philosophy from Tufts University and a MA in International Affairs from the Elliot School, George Washington University. During his IAF tenure, he will be conducting research on Japanese views of China’s rising prominence in Asia and the potential implications for regional security and economic competitiveness.
