Colonel Walker M. Field of the U.S. Marine Corps was recently chief of staff of the Marine Forces Reserve, which includes 38,500 reserve Marines and 62,000 members of the Individual Ready Reserve. Field is the recipient of the Defense Superior Service Medal, two Legion of Merit Meritorious Service Medals, three Navy Commendation Medals (one with V), a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and a Combat Action Ribbon. He earned a bachelor of business administration in banking finance from the University of Mississippi, a resident master of business administration from Campbell University, a master of arts in national security and strategic studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and a master of strategic studies from the National War College.
