David M. Cote is executive chairman of Honeywell, a $40 billion technology and manufacturing corporation. He was Honeywell’s chairman and chief executive officer from 2002 until 2017. During Mr. Cote's fifteen years of leadership, the company delivered strong growth in sales, earnings per share, segment profit, cash flow, and a total shareowner return of approximately 500 percent. Mr. Cote currently serves as a Class B director to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, known as the Simpson-Bowles Commission. He is also co-chair of the U.S.-India CEO Forum. Mr. Cote was a founding member of the steering committee of the Campaign to Fix Debt and served as a vice chair of the Business Roundtable. Mr. Cote has received numerous accolades, including the Horatio Alger Award and CEO of the Year by Chief Executive magazine. He has also been named a World’s Best CEO by Barron’s for four consecutive years. Mr. Cote earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire. He is based in Morris Plains, NJ.
