About the Project

Today, as the U.S.-led war on terrorism grinds on without either respite or resolution, a better understanding of the lessons learned and not learned over the past sixteen years is needed. The intention of this roundtable series, accordingly, is to review the progress to date in the war on terrorism; identify what new strategies or new combinations of approaches might help to decisively resolve this ongoing struggle; and, to better understand the costs and tradeoffs imposed on U.S. national security, foreign policy, and domestic priorities by the ongoing prosecution of the terrorist threat. These discussions will be held in both Washington, DC and New York and will result in a series of articles, opinion pieces, and other analytical products capturing the key points and conclusions that emerge from these discussions.
