About the Project
Given the conceivable sources of instability and conflict around the world in which the United States could take preventive action, I research, write, and hold meetings on ways to prevent, defuse, and reduce deadly conflict and to expand the body of knowledge on conflict prevention. These efforts include Preventive Action Workshops and Flashpoint Roundtables, and daily updates to the Global Conflict Tracker. I also post regularly on my blog, Politics, Power, and Preventive Action, write a column for ForeignPolicy.com, and publish CFR publications such as Council Special Reports, Contingency Planning Memoranda, and the annual Preventive Priorities Survey.
This project is made possible through support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund.
