Amid reports that President Trump may announce decertification of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) this week, CFR Senior Fellows Philip H. Gordon, Ray Takeyh, and Carla Anne Robbins discussed the successes and failures of the JCPOA to date, the Trump Administration’s renegotiation strategy, and what the future of U.S.-Iran relations may look like in the absence of such an agreement.

The mission is to be a resource and a source of ideas, and to provide analysis and background to help people understand the world. — Richard Haass, President, Council on Foreign Relations
