CFR Education Google Classroom Integration

This page describes how CFR Education’s Google Classroom add-on accesses, uses, stores, and protects Google user data. It supplements CFR’s main privacy policy.

What Google user data we access

When a teacher connects their Google account to use the CFR Education add-on, we access basic profile information associated with that account, specifically the teacher’s name. We also access metadata about the specific course and assignment the teacher is working with, such as course name, assignment title, and related identifiers, provided directly through Google’s Classroom API.

We do not access, and have not requested permission to access, any student’s name, email address, Google account identity, class roster, or grades. Students who open CFR Education content attached to their coursework do so without any authenticated connection to their Google account on our end.

We do not request access to Google Drive, Google Slides, or any files stored in a teacher’s or student’s Google account.

How we use this data

We use this information solely to confirm a teacher’s identity when they connect their account, and to display the correct CFR Education content within the correct course and assignment. We do not use Google user data for advertising, marketing, or any purpose unrelated to providing this feature. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train any generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine learning model.

How we store and protect this data

Data accessed through this integration, including a teacher’s name and account identifier, is encrypted and is not stored in a directly readable form.

How we share this data

We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data obtained through this integration with third parties, except as necessary to operate the underlying infrastructure that supports the add-on, such as cloud hosting providers, who are contractually restricted from using the data for any other purpose.

Retention and deletion

We retain this data only for as long as necessary to provide the add-on’s functionality. A teacher may disconnect their account at any time, which revokes our access through Google and removes our stored record.

Children’s data

This integration operates within K-12 classrooms. We want to be explicit that no personal information is collected from students through this feature. Only the connecting teacher’s account information, described above, is accessed.
