Identifying Government Types

Learning Objectives

Students will be able to explain the major differences between different forms of government (democratic/authoritarian, capitalist/communist, left-wing/right-wing).

Instructional Plan

Students will analyze fictional campaign slogans and/or policy positions. For each section, they will choose which government type it is and explain. They should refer to “What Are Different Types of Government?” for guidance.
