Chief Strategy Officer, CHAOS

Will Hurd, a San Antonio native, currently serves as chief strategy officer at the defense technology start-up CHAOS Industries. He has been a CIA officer, cybersecurity executive, congressman, artificial intelligence (AI) policy pioneer, author, investment banker, and presidential candidate. In his twenties, serving overseas with the CIA, he thwarted terror threats. In his thirties, he helped build FusionX to combat cyber adversaries, and in Congress he addressed critical national issues from AI to the new cold war with China. In his forties, as a managing director at Allen & Company, a board member of OpenAI, and a trustee of the German Marshall Fund, he was at the center of technology, national security, and public policy. As a presidential candidate, he introduced innovative AI and border policies. He currently serves on the board of The Aerospace Corporation, Palo Alto Networks Advisory Board, and on the International Leadership Council at the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA). Hurd has a computer science degree from Texas A&M University. He is based in Helotes, Texas.
