Starting next year, selling cigarettes to anyone born on or after January 1, 2009, will be illegal in the United Kingdom—in perpetuity. The results of the U.K. tobacco ban and similar efforts in New Zealand might offer lessons for other nations—such as the United States, where tobacco use has already been declining—on how to tackle tobacco use and other public health challenges. This roundtable explored those lessons and their implications for the future of tobacco control policy.
