On October 30-31, 2012, the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and CFR convened the first Council of Councils regional conference: Asia at the Crossroads: Regional Priorities for the Twenty-First Century.

Participants discussed five major themes:

  • Stabilizing the global financial system
  • Advancing trade liberalization
  • Strengthening maritime security and freedom of navigation
  • Assessing the proliferation threat in Asia
  • The future of Asian security cooperation
