FASKIANOS: Welcome to the Council on Foreign Relations State and Local Officials Webinar Series. I’m Irina Faskianos, vice president for the National Program and Outreach here at CFR.

CFR is an independent, nonpartisan, national membership organization, think tank, educator, and publisher focused on U.S. foreign policy. CFR generates policy-relevant ideas and analysis, convenes experts and policymakers, and is also the publisher of Foreign Affairs magazine. And, as always, CFR takes no institutional positions on matters of policy.

Through our State and Local Officials Initiative, CFR serves as a resource on pressing international issues affecting the priorities and agendas of state and local governments by providing background and analysis on a wide range of topics. Thank you for taking the time to join us for today’s discussion.

We’re delighted to have more than 450 registered from fifty U.S. states and territories. Again, this webinar is on the record and the video and transcript will be posted on our website, at CFR.org.

With that, let me introduce Jessica Brandt and John Israel today to discuss cyber threats facing states and foreign interference campaigns across the country. We shared their bios with you, so I will just give you a few highlights.
