Join astrophysicist Barbara J. Thompson, one of the founders of NASA’s Center for HelioAnalytics, and Newton Campbell Jr., adjunct professor at Georgetown University and a 2026 TIME100 AI honoree, to discover how AI is accelerating our understanding of the Sun, why that knowledge can transform critical infrastructure in orbit and on earth, and where geospatial AI is creating new possibilities for sustainable development and human flourishing.

The Science Fair Series highlights scientific and technological advances with consequences for foreign policy. Sessions are designed for all CFR members, regardless of scientific background. This meeting is presented by LEAD AI, a CFR initiative working to ensure that the deployment of AI systems reinforces democratic resilience, safeguards human agency, and resists the consolidation of authoritarian control.

This event is made possible through support from the MacArthur Foundation, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, Humanity AI, the Hewlett Foundation, and the Packard Foundation.
