This update represents violence in Nigeria and related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger from November 5 to November 11, 2022.

Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from November 5 to November 11, 2022. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

 

  • November 5: A cult clash led to nine deaths in Ahoada East, Rivers.
  • November 5: Suspected Biafra Nations League (BNL) separatists abducted three oil workers in Bakassi, Cross River.
  • November 5: Herdsmen killed two in Makurdi, Benue.
  • November 5: Airstrikes killed two top Islamic State in West Africa (ISWA) commanders “and others” (est. at twenty total) in Abadam, Borno.
  • November 6: Nigerian troops killed one bandit in Maru Local Government Area (LGA) and one bandit in Bungudu LGA in Zamfara.
  • November 7: Bandits abducted seven in Zurmi, Zamfara.
  • November 7: Two vigilantes and fifty bandits were killed during a clash in Shiroro, Niger State.
  • November 7: Bandits killed five in Munya, Niger State.
  • November 8: Nigerian troops killed ten civilians in Ohafia, Abia.
  • November 8: Gunmen attacked a checkpoint with “some” (est. at five) casualties in Ihiala, Anambra.
  • November 8: Communal violence led to one death in Minjibir, Kano.
  • November 8: Communal violence led to thirty deaths in Ado, Benue.
  • November 8: Suspected Fulani militia killed three in Bokkos, Plateau.
  • November 9: Kidnappers abducted two pastors in Jos South, Plateau.
  • November 9: Gunmen killed five in Katsina-Ala, Benue.
  • November 9: Gunmen killed two in Paikoro, Niger State.
  • November 10: Security forces killed one bandit kingpin in Chikun, Kaduna.
  • November 10: Communal violence led to two deaths in Jahun, Jigawa.
  • November 11: Troops killed eight bandits in Gummi, Zamfara.
