This update represents violence in Nigeria and related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger from October 8 to October 14, 2022.   
The map depicts deaths by state. Borno State, in Nigeria's North East, is the epicenter of Boko Haram-related violence, which has also spilled into neighboring Adamawa and Yobe states, among others.

Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from October 8 to October 14, 2022. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

 

 

  • October 8: Gunmen killed eleven in Keana, Nassarawa.
  • October 8: Kidnappers abducted four in Iseyin, Oyo.
  • October 8: Gunmen killed two police officers in Unuimo, Imo. 
  • October 8: Nigerian Air Force airstrikes killed thirty-one bandits in Giwa, Kaduna. 
  • October 8: Bandits killed seven in Bokkos, Plateau. 
  • October 9: Gunmen killed two police officers in Oji River, Enugu. 
  • October 9: Gunmen killed three vigilantes in Aguata, Anambra. 
  • October 10: Gunmen killed four soldiers in Oji River, Enugu. 
  • October 10: Herdsmen killed one in Riyom, Plateau. 
  • October 10: Communal violence led to three deaths in Ukwuani, Delta. 
  • October 11: Nigerian troops killed nineteen Islamic State in West Africa /Boko Haram militants in Bama, Borno. 
  • October 11: Kidnappers abducted eighteen in Ikwerre, Rivers. 
  • October 12: Herders killed five in Guma, Benue. 
  • October 12: Kidnappers killed two in Kankara, Katsina. 
  • October 12: Kidnappers killed one and abducted one in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.
  • October 12: Police officers killed two bandits in Giwa, Kaduna. 
  • October 12: Bandits killed one and abducted one in Goronyo, Sokoto.
  • October 13: Herdsmen kidnapped an "unspecified number" (est. at ten) in Ishielu, Ebonyi. 
  • October 14: Airstrikes killed thirty bandits in Safana, Katsina.
