A wide-ranging conversation about national security policymaking, leading a military service, and civilian control of the military with Christine Wormuth, drawing on her decades of service at the Pentagon. She served most recently as the 25th secretary of the U.S. Army, the nation's largest uniformed service, and led policy to meet recruiting and retention targets. She also served as the most senior defense policy official, undersecretary of policy. She is currently the CEO and president of the Nuclear Threat Initiative.
