In Memoriam: Lawrence Korb 

A retired naval officer and respected policy analyst, Lawrence Korb passed away on April 20 at age eighty-six.

The Council on Foreign Relations mourns the passing of Lawrence Korb, a longtime Council member, public servant, military officer, and policy analyst.

At CFR, Larry served as vice president, Maurice R. Greenberg chair, and director of studies from 1998 to 2002, before joining the Center of American Progress (CAP) in its early days. He spent more than two decades at CAP before retiring in 2024. We encourage you to read CAP’s tribute to Larry here.
