Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from June 15 to June 20, 2014. These incidents are also available here, and are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

  • June 15: Sectarian violence resulted in forty deaths in Taraba state.
  • June 15: Boko Haram killed twenty-five people in a market in Borno state.
  • June 16: Vigilantes laid an ambush and killed eight Boko Haram insurgents in Chibok, Borno state.
  • June 17: An explosion at a World Cup viewing center in Yobe state killed twenty-one. Boko Haram was blamed for the attack.
