Lead AI

AI deployment is foreign policy.

The artificial intelligence systems being built, procured, and deployed today will shape democratic resilience, national security, and the global balance of power for decades to come. LEAD AI unites C-suite, technical, government, and civil society leaders to identify and scale the solutions that will support AI that strengthens democratic principles rather than erodes them.

Our Pillars

Deployment decisions are governance decisions.

LEAD AI examines how artificial intelligence is being deployed in real time, in order to clarify:

  • What the trustworthy use of AI looks like in practice and how that could differentiate American AI globally from other countries’ offerings
  • What the national security implications are of AI’s development and adoption at scale
  • What innovations in AI governance are needed given AI’s geopolitical importance and the exponential increases in its speed and scale
  • How policy experts and technological experts can both benefit from informed dialogues and the exchange of knowledge
