ModifiedElephant is a threat actor that has targeted activists, human rights defenders, journalists, academics, and law professionals in India for at least the past ten years. It primarily targets victims with remote access Trojans delivered through spear-phishing emails containing malicious file attachments. ModifiedElephant planted incriminating digital evidence used by Indian authorities to convict at least one activist of terrorism.
